Closest airport is Alexander the Great at Kavala (village of Chrysoupolis), 40 minutes drive from Eleftheres. In the tourist season, from early May to mid-October, there are cheap flights directly from most European countries.

Sometimes it´s easier to fly to Athens and get a connection from there to Kavala.

In the winter it's very often cheaper to fly to Thessaloniki.

Travelling to or from the Scandinavian countries or the Netherlands I always recommend searching for cheap flights at SUPERSAVER , as I find it the best flight search engine I have tried.

From the airport

The Macedonia airport of Thessaloniki is one and a half hours drive from Eleftheres, on brand new great highway, normally with very little traffic.

Taxi from Thessaloniki airport to Eleftheres costs 130 euros one way. To rent a car at the airport for a week will cost approx. 220 euros.

From the airport you can also take the bus to the main bus station in Thessaloniki (KTEL) (that takes one hour) and then get on a bus to Kavala, which leaves every hour (9, 10, 11 etc). Bus costs aproximately 12 euros. If you come by bus you'll either get off in Peramos or in Eleftheroupolis (depending if the bus goes the inland or coastline road). Here we'll arrange pick up.
