Family Holidays in GreeceKairos - Time To Be Together
A family holidays in Greece should be enjoyable for all members of the family. Our small, family run hotel in the village of Eleftheres in northern Greece is a great place for persons of all ages to have a wonderful holiday. Most children love it here, as they have so much SPACE! And it's easy for parents and grand parents to keep an eye on the children while still being able to relax and enjoy their holidays themselves.
The villas are situated in the big garden, with a climbing frame/castle, our own organic vegetable garden, tiny vineyard, chicken yard and our family run taverna. It's a short stroll to the bus stop and a few minutes on the bus takes you to some of the best beaches in Greece. The bus stops practically on the beach (actually on several beaches on its way to town) so you don't need to walk (carrying kids and all their beach toys!)long distances in the heat. Of course, it's also possible to hire a car if you want to explore this fascinating region of Greece. Most kids love playing in the garden while mum and dad enjoy a meal and a glass of wine in the restaurant. If you prefer to, it's also possible for you to bring your meal up to the house, and enjoy it on the terrace while the kids are sleeping. Having said that, most parents feel totally comfortable leaving their children sleeping in their rooms while having a meal in taverna Ankyra - this is a very small retreat in it's own secluded 3000 square meters of garden and we only have a maximum of twelve guests staying with us at a time. We don't have television and Internet, as we don't see the point of going on a family holidays in Greece and spend it in front of a screen. On the other hand, we have plenty of Lego and other toys, and loads of children's books (though unless you read Norwegian or Greek, you'll have to improvise the stories..). Kids are also welcome to help feeding the chickens or search for eggs, and help us picking the grapes, when in season...
Even if you want to have holidays with your family, it's still possible to join one of our workshops. Your partner will only pay 300 euros and your child, sleeping in a spare bed in your room, pays only 50 euros for the whole week. We can even arrange babysitting during sessions on request. Same goes if you and your partner would like to try rock climbing in the nearby rock climbing field or go for a walk in the mountains. But a stroll in the mountains behind the village or on the track roads between the vine yards and olive groves is and adventure even small children will enjoy. Watch out for turtles and lizards!
