    The Greek alphabet has 24 letters. Words are pronounced very much the way they are written - it´s not like in English where different sounds are pronounced different ways depending on what letters come first and after.

    The confusing thing about spelling in Greek is that the sound "e" can be spelled five different ways:

    ι, υ, η, ει and οι
