Hotels in Athens Greece

I don´t go very often to Athens myself and when I do I usually stay with friends, so I have not tried these hotels myself. However, they have been recommended to me by friends who have stayed here. (Thanks for your help!)

To get to the center of Athens take bus X95 (follow the signs from the arrival hall at the airport.) Remember to buy a bus ticket from the ticket office just before the bus stop before you go on to the bus! The bus takes approximately one hour to Syntagma (the main square in Athens and the entry to the old town, Plaka). The bus leaves every 15 minutes.

You can also take the metro.

Hera Hotel. Situated close to the Acropolis metro station. Nice roof restaurant with view to Acropolis. Two minutes walk and you´re in the center of Plaka. Quiet, even if it´s in the center.

Amazon Hotel. Close to Syntagma metro station/bus stop, almost in Plaka. Walking distance to everything worth visiting in Athens. No luxury, but decent.

Acropolis House. Old fashioned charm in Plaka. Very decent prices. Close to airport bus stop at Syntagma.

Athens Airport Hotels

Sofitel is conveniently situated only 50 meters from the arrival and departure halls at the airport.

Holiday Inn is situated 11 km from the airport.
