Life in Greece

If you believed life in Greece was mostly sunshine and tsipouro, well, then you're right!

But there are other sides to Greek society, too, and some of them I cover in these articles. I have lived in Greece permanently since 1993 and in these articles I try to answer some of the frequently asked questions from my guests and visitors.

Those of you who are lucky enough:) to understand Norwegian can also get some info on living in Greece from my three books about Greece. And those of you who don't know the language of the Vikings will have to do with free sample chapters in English - read them here.

  • The Greek Religion - with a church on every corner and a priest in every coffee shop - of course, you want to know more about what religion the Greeks have!

  • Driving in Greece - you just survived your first cab ride and want to know if you'll be safer driving yourself...

  • Crime in Greece - why we don't have a safe, never lock our doors and leave our money in that blue box on the hall table.

  • Living a Simple Life in Greece - don't tell me you miss tea and theater!

  • How many cousins do they actually have? The answer to the question you didn't dare to ask loud.

  • Christmas in Greece.

  • NEW! Greek Easter - about the celebrations and traditions of the biggest Greek holiday.

  • To believe or not to believe - that's the question!

  • Greek Toilets - how come they never ever work?

  • The Greek Language - itīs harder to learn than you could ever imagine.
