There are also several other wineries in this area that are open for visitors. The village and winery of Mikrochori is situated on the inland side of the Pangeo mountains, in a climate that gives a different taste to the wines produced here. This is a state of the art winery with impressive buildings and wine cellars - and a very knowledgeable guide who´ll take you around when you visit.

Here the Tsikrikoni family has produced wine for generations. Stathis, who is running the family business today practically grew up in the vineyards.
Stathis speaks passionately about creating wine and how he instinctively knows how a dash of this grape and a bit of that one will add just the flavour that makes his Sauvignon stand out from the Sauvignon produced by others. He says with a proud smile: 
The Tsikrikoni family’s vineyards are situated in the neighbouring village to Eleftheres, Myrtofyto, on an altitude of 300 meters, but still so close to the sea that the salt and smells of the sea adds a subtle spice to the grapes.
